Inspections, Treatments and Preconstruction

Termites

Far North Queensland is home to a very diverse range of termite species. These often very destructive creatures are known to cause grief to homeowners by causing significant damage to buildings, fences, and other wooden structures or materials. Control and prevention is the key. Termites typically build their nests underground and in trees and often construct shelter tubes to protect them as they move between their nest and food sources. If you suspect that you have found termites in your home, DON’T PANIC. Leave the area of concern as untouched as possible and call a qualified pest technician to help eradicate and control this horrible pest. We will usually advise to allow our pest technicians to conduct a full timber pest inspection of the property, this will allow us to become familiar with how the building is constructed and enable us to provide the most accurate tailored advice and solutions to control this pest.

We specialise in all areas of Timber Pest Management from detection, eradication to prevention. Protect your most important asset your home/investment or commercial property against the destruction caused by termites. We use only proven termite management systems working closely with Termidor (Termiticide & Insecticide), Trelona (Advanced Termite Bait System), Homeguard Precision termite Management and Greenzone products just to name a few. Our professional pest technician will ensure that we use the most trusted termite solution tailored to your property.

Timber Pest Inspections

This is a visual inspection to all readily accessible areas of the building and site looking for anything to do with the breakdown of timber due to timber pests. An extensive report will be issued on our inspection findings reporting on timber pest issues observed at the time of inspection. After our inspection recommendations will be made to advise how to best protect your home against future termite attack. Regular inspections are recommended as a minimum management plan and Proposals will also be made available.

We have access to latest technology should we need to use other tools to help in detecting termite entry into your home.

Pre-Purchase Inspections
A must for anyone thinking of purchasing a new property. We will detect any issues that the structure may have and potentially save you unnecessary heartache and unnecessary costs should your home be riddled with termites or damage due to timber pests.

Termiticide Soil Treatments
After a full timber pest inspection has been undertaken to all readily accessible areas of the building and site by our pest management expert we may often advise the installation of a termiticide soil treatment. These treatments will often involve trenching, drilling and the injection of a chemical termiticide. These treatments will offer the best protection to the building against future termite attack. However due to the nature of termites it will still be necessary to conduct regular timber pest inspections to ensure the maintenance of the barrier is still intact and termites have not breached the treatment in any way.
Baiting and Monitoring

After a full timber pest inspection has been undertaken to all readily accessible areas of the building and site by our pest management expert, we may advise the installation of bait stations if a termiticide soil treatment is not able to be installed due to various reasons.  These stations are positioned strategically around the perimeter of the building to relieve the pressure of termites on the building.  Baiting stations are then monitored by a pest professional on a regular basis.  Baiting stations are designed to attract termites into the station.  Once attracted the termites will feed on the inhibitor type insecticide and the baits properties will interfere with the development of the termite.  The active ingredient is then taken back to the termite nest inhibiting growth of the termite colony and eventually destroying the nest.  Regular inspections to the building will also be recommended as a minimum management plan.

Remedial Treatments - Spot Treatments

A remedial treatment or spot treatment is the first stage to any termite activity that has been located.  After a full timber pest inspection has been undertaken to all readily accessible areas of the building and site by our pest management expert.  Once a remedial or spot treatment has been applied using an approved termiticide we will allow up to 1 month before returning to see if the activity has ceased.  A proposal will also be issued with recommendations on how to best protect the building form termite attack.

Preconstruction Termite Control

The most important decision you will make when building your new home/commercial property is to protect it from termite attack.  The purpose of installing a termite management system during the preconstruction stage is to deter hidden termite entry and reduce the risk of termite attack on your new building for its liftetime.

We use only proven termite management systems working closely with the Homeguard Precision Termite Management and Greenzone products.

Annual timber pest inspections will still be recommended to ensure that the new system is not breached in any way.
