What if I think I have termites?
If you suspect that you have found termites in your home, DON’T PANIC. Leave the area of concern as untouched as possible and call a qualified pest technician to help eradicate and control this horrible pest. We will usually advise to allow our pest technicians to conduct a full timber pest inspection of the property, this will allow us to become familiar with how the building is constructed and enable us to provide the most accurate tailored advice and solutions to control this pest. Do not treat the area with anything leave this to your qualified pest technician.
How to prepare for my appointment?
To maximize the efficiency of our technician’s time on site and the effectiveness of your pest control treatment we recommend the following:
• Housekeeping like sweeping, moping and vacuuming should be completed before our arrival. A clean floor means our treatment can bond to the surface better and stick around for longer. This means more pests are exposed to it and a quicker eradication time without service calls. Please do not mop your floors for at least three days after the treatment has been applied.
• Store any open food items away from bench tops and tabletops.
• Clear clutter and children’s toys from floor areas, especially around skirting/kickboards when treatments are applied. There is no need to move large pieces of furniture away from walls for a General Pest Control service.
• Cover any birdcages, fish tanks or ponds located under external windows or alongside internal walls.
• Remove prior to or change food and water of any pets (cats, dogs etc) after our service.
• Move any stored items from under and around ceiling-void manholes.
• Outside your home, rake, sweep or blow away leaves and garden debris from paths and the edges of your home. This allows us to apply treatments to the areas required and not risk the treatment being removed at a later date.
• Do not remove any spider webs. Spiders need to be treated directly for Spiders to be eradicated.
What should I Expect On the Day of a Pest Control Service
We use the lowest mammalian toxicity of insecticides in our internal sprays and they are applied in a way so that there is no airborne residual. You are more than welcome to stay at the property while our experienced technician is applying treatments. In some situations, depending on the level of infestation and type of service being performed, we may ask you to step outside of the room while the treatment is being applied. Please keep in mind that the floors around skirting and kickboards can be wet after the service so these areas should be avoided until dried.
What are the warranty Periods of the Service?
Typically regular annual services will keep general pests under control.
Warranty for any remedial treatment is to the areas of concern only, not full house treatments.
Warranty may be void if:
• Recommended action is not taken (i.e. at the time of service, the technician tells you to clean the property of debris to stop infestation and this is not done).
• The return of a small number of insects (we only cover a repeat infestation).
We advise our clients to wait 14 days after our treatment to allow the residual of the products to work and if still not satisfied that the pest service meets their expectations do not hesitate to give our office a call. If you’re not satisfied we do come back.
